Thomas Logan
Color Guard Director Little Cypress - Mauriceville High School [email protected] Thomas Sexton Logan is an alumnus of Iota High School in Louisiana and McNeese State University, where he studied Clarinet Music Performance under Ms. Jan Scott. In his senior year of high school, he taught himself how to spin a flag in his free time and tried out for the Pride of McNeese Color Guard… he did NOT make it. After two years spent marching clarinet, he felt the call to try out for color guard again. He grabbed a flag and worked as hard as possible and, this time, he made it. Two years later, he was the captain. Two years after that, he was hired as the assistant color guard instructor. He likes to tell this story because he honestly believes that every "failure" is a learning opportunity. Since then, Mr. Logan has served at Sulphur High School in Louisiana as the color guard director for eleven years. While there, he grew the program from twenty-two performers to an average of fifty-five performers. Under Mr. Logan’s direction, the Sulphur High School color guard program, has earned many superior ratings in marching contests and has earned several medals as members of the Magnolia Performing Arts Association. In Mr. Logan’s final season as the director of the Golden Tornado Color Guard, the F5 Tornado winter guard competed in its first Winter Guard Regional and earned a spot as a finalist. Although he directed, designed ,and choreographed the shows at Sulphur, he credits these achievements to his incredible students. He is so proud of the fact that he has had the opportunity to work with so many incredible young people and he looks forward to continuing his work at Little Cypress - Mauriceville High School as Color Guard Director and at Little Cypress Intermediate as a General Music teacher. Mr. Logan doesn't have what most people would call "free time," but when he is not teaching color guard he spends time with his dog, Ava, serves as the president of the Magnolia Performing Arts Association, and serves as the pastor of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. |

Tommy Holland
Director Little Cypress Junior High School tholland@lcmcisd.org Tommy is an alumnus of LCM and returned in 2023 as the band director at Little Cypress Junior High. He graduated summa cum laude from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at McNeese, Tommy served as drum major of The Pride of McNeese Marching Band and held the principal trumpet position of the McNeese Wind Symphony. He is also a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Tommy marched with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps in the summer of 2019. In his free time, Tommy likes watching movies, drinking coffee, film photography, and reading classic literature, sci-fi, crime, and history books. |

Marcus James
Associate Director Little Cypress Junior High School & Mauriceville Middle School [email protected] A native of Orange County, Marcus joined the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Band staff in July 2022. Prior to his time at LCM, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lamar University in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at Lamar University, Marcus performed for the Showcase of Southeast Texas Marching Band and was the principal euphonium of the Lamar University Wind Ensemble. Marcus is a brother of the Eta Mu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and his professional memberships include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Association of Texas Small School Bands, and the Texas Bandmasters Association. He is also currently working as the Assistant Director of Sacred Music at St. Anthony's Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont. Marcus loves to read, cook, and spend time at home with his wife, Kaitlyn, whom he married in 2021 and their daughter, Josephine (Josie), born March 2025. |

Kaitlyn James
Fine Arts Secretary Little Cypress - Mauriceville CISD [email protected] Kaitlyn joined the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School staff in 2024. She comes with strong administrative skills and a great financial background. Kaitlyn was a part of her high school (Vidor High School) and college (Lamar University) fine arts programs as a flautist and baton twirler. When she is not working, Kaitlyn loves to bake, read and spend time with her family, especially her daughter Josephine born March 2025. |
